PlainCSV Pro and API (coming soon)
PlainCSV’s tools are free and run in your browser. We are planning a paid Pro plan and an API for people who clean and convert CSV files every week as part of their job. Neither is available yet. If they sound useful, leave your email below and we will tell you when they open.
What stays free
- Every tool on this site, with all of its settings: the viewer and editor, the converters (Excel, JSON, XML, HTML, SQL, vCard, Markdown), encoding repair, validation, merging and splitting.
- Local processing. Files you open in a free tool are read by your browser and are never uploaded.
- No sign-up and no limit on how often you use a tool.
What Pro and the API would add
- Batch conversion: drop a folder of CSV or Excel files and get every file converted, re-encoded or cleaned with the same settings, in one download.
- Large files: files bigger than a browser tab can comfortably hold (hundreds of megabytes and up), processed on a server instead of on your device. That is the one case where a file would be uploaded, and it would be said clearly before anything is sent.
- An HTTP API for the same steps as the free tools: encoding repair to UTF-8, delimiter changes, CSV ↔ JSON, Excel → CSV, validation reports.
- Saved recipes: a named list of clean-up steps (trim, remove duplicates by key, rename headers, re-encode) that you can run again on next week’s export.
We have not set prices. Joining the waitlist does not commit you to anything.
