Your files and what you make with the tools: free for commercial use

Your data stays yours. Files you open in a tool are processed in your browser and are not uploaded, so we receive no copy and claim no rights in them.

Everything you produce with the tools (converted, cleaned or generated files such as CSV, Excel, JSON, XML, SQL, vCard, HTML or Markdown, and the sample data sets, “your output”) is yours to use for any purpose, including commercial use, royalty-free and worldwide, in your own work, for clients, in products and in software. No attribution or credit is required.

Two limits: material by third parties that is listed on the credits page keeps its own licence; and you may not copy, resell, mirror or repackage the site itself, its code, its tools or its design as a competing tool or service, or use automated tools to copy the site in bulk or to overload it.

No warranty

We test the tools against hand-worked examples and the relevant specifications, but mistakes can happen; check anything important (for example a file you will import into a production system) before you rely on it, and keep your original file. The site is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from use of the site. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Content and licences

The site’s design, text and code are © PlainCSV. Third-party material is listed with its licence on the credits page, and that licence applies to it.

Advertising and third-party services

The site may show advertising and may use visit statistics. These are described in the privacy policy. We are not responsible for the content of other websites we link to.

Changes and contact
